Library Instruction Mission Statement

At the center of the Auraria academic community, Auraria Library serves the education and research missions of the University of Colorado at Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver and the Community College of Denver. The development of the critical thinking and problem solving skills of students is a primary goal of higher education. A component to these skills is to understand how information is disseminated and use this understanding to access, retrieve and evaluate information for research and problem solving purposes. Library instructors support the development of these higher order thinking skills through a library instruction program that is integrated with the curriculum and needs of the three institutions.
