Guidelines for Electronic Reserves Pilot Project
- Interested faculty may contact the Reserves Department
at 303-352-3847 if you have any questions.
- Due to copyright considerations, Electronic Reserves
are managed in accordance with the Auraria Library Electronic
Reserves Policy. Requests which do not conform to this
policy will not be accepted for Electronic Reserves.
- Reserves staff will be responsible for scanning and
creating the Adobe Acrobat Reader (.PDF) files for use
as Electronic Reserves. Instructors are responsible for
providing legible 81/2 X 11 inch copies to scan. Illegble
or nonstandard sized copies will not be placed on Electronic
Reserves, they will be placed in Traditional Reserves
at our discretion.
Guidelines for Traditional Reserves
- FALL RUSH--The best advice is--Bring your materials
in early!!! Materials brought to the Reserves Department
prior to the beginning of the semester will be ready by
the first day of class. Materials brought to the department
after classes begin can take up to seven (7) days to be
processed due to fall rush. Please keep in mind these
processing time requirements when announcing the availability
of reserve materials to students.
- It is not necessary to check-out library-owned materials
under your name; just bring the materials and completed
Reserve List form to the Reserves desk.
- If materials are to be placed on reserve and are not
owned by the library, it is the responsibility of the
faculty member to contact the appropriate bibliographer,
who will in most cases place a rush reserve order for
the item(s) required.
- All personal materials placed on reserve will be given
a call number consisting of the first three letters of
the faculty members last name along with a number designation.
- The Auraria Library and the Reserves Department are
not responsible for theft and/or damage to personal books
or papers placed on Reserve.
- All copyright laws and guidelines are strictly enforced.
- Reserves staff do not make photocopies for students
or faculty.
- Periodicals, Reference items, and materials from other
libraries will not be placed on Reserve.
- No material will be placed on "permanent"
reserve. To do so is a violation of copyright law.
- All materials will be removed from Reserves and returned
to the faculty or faculty offices at the end of each Spring
Semester unless the faculty member wishes to pick up the
material.
