Computing Facilities at the Library

There are eighty computers with internet and library database access in the public areas of the library. Sixty-eight of these are on the first floor (primarily in the Reference and Periodicals areas) and twelve are on the second floor. In addition to research databases, these computers have Microsoft Word, Excel and Access viewers, so that one can view and print documents in these formats, but not create or edit documents. Documents can be printed from these first floor machines using the GoPrint system.

In addition to these there are three computers in the Reserves area specifically for looking up reserve items and one in the Interlibrary Loan area for initiating Interlibrary Loan requests. In the Reference area there are two computers devoted to specific databases on CD-ROM, as well as one with special equipment and software specifically for the use of disabled users.

The Computer Commons is a lab located in the library. It has about fifty computers with internet access and Microsoft Office applications. Prints can be made with the GoPrint system. This lab is for use only by students, faculty and staff of the Auraria campus.

Also located in the library, but not run by the library is the Access Center. This lab contains extensive software and hardware designed to meet the computing needs of disabled students and faculty of the Auraria Campus.
