SciFinder Scholar

DESCRIPTION

Electronic version of Chemical Abstracts, covers journal articles, patents, technical reports, books, conference proceedings and dissertations from around the world, more than 26 million substance records and CAS Registry Numbers. Medline is also included. Auraria Library version includes access to the Substructure Module.

WHO MAY ACCESS

Students, faculty and staff of University of Colorado Denver and Metropolitan State College of Denver. One workstation is available for research use in the library near the Reference Desk. Access can also be set up on campus computers, and at home, under certain circumstances (see Instructions to access SFS below). Note: Auraria Library shares two concurrent users, so please remember to log off when finished.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CONNECT TO SCIFINDER SCHOLAR

On-campus: To access SciFinder Scholar, you must download special software and a site preference file to your personal computer. Access is then made by clicking an icon on your desktop. Directions to set up the program are included on the scifinder info page . If prompted, enter your name and campus id.

Off-campus: If you are a student, staff or faculty you may place SciFinder Scholar on your off campus computer if you have access to the internet at home through your institution. (See ITS for UCDHSC students and employees.)
