The Auraria Library is dedicated to providing an environment which stimulates and nourishes the growth of ideas through collections and services that support the curriculum, ranging from vocational training to doctoral programs. The Auraria Library embodies the spirit of education, research, knowledge and life-long learning.
The Auraria Library Advancement Council (the Council) was formed in the fall of 1998 under the guidance of David Gleim, Dean/Director of the Auraria Library.
The mission of the Council is:
- To assist the Auraria Library (the Library) in the accomplishment of its mission,
- To enable the Library to provide services and resources beyond those funded by state resources through advocacy, activities, programs, and fundraising initiatives.
In pursuing this mission the council is involved in a number of activities. The Council will:
- Assist the Library in developing and enhancing community outreach and business partnerships
- Participate in the Library's long-range strategic planning for fundraising initiatives
- Provide volunteer leadership for fund raising initiatives
- Assist the Library and the CU Foundation in identifying prospective donors
- Assist in sponsoring special events
- Serve as informed and enthusiastic advocates of the Library.
