PURPOSE

The purpose of the e-Learning Endowment is to enhance a replacement program which will update computers in the Computer Commons and the instruction classroom. The improved facilities will better support the Auraria Library's e-Learning program and better meet the needs of our 38,000 students and faculty to efficiently find, evaluate and use online databases and other learning materials at the Auraria Library.

NEEDS

With only one dedicated library instruction classroom and one general use computer lab, the library computer facilities must function at overflow capacity! The Computer Commons general use lab had an astounding 150,000 visits last year. The classroom hosts 300 classes per semester and demand far exceeds available seats. In view of the three to four-year lifespan of most computers, there is a compelling need to establish a perpetual replacement program to regularly and periodically replace outdated computers and software. 

The solution is to establish an e-Learning Endowment to ensure the currency of computers, software and other equipment at the Auraria Library.
