Can students check out a periodical?

None of the magazines, journals or newspapers can be checked out. However, you can make photocopies of articles. Many titles are available with full-text online. Ask at the Periodicals Desk for assistance.

What is a microform?

Microforms come in two types: microfilm & microfiche. Many back issues of newspapers, magazines and journals are only available in microforms. Some government documents are kept in micro format as well.

Where do I go to use them?

Most of the microforms are kept in the Periodicals Department. Government documents are kept in the Government Publications Department
