At the American Library Association's 2009 Annual Conference, Lisa Carlucci Thomas and I presented the brief original version of "Starting Out? Start With You: What Every New Librarian Needs to Know" to the New Members' Round Table. (I was unfortunately not able to attend in person; Lisa did a fantastic job presenting for the two of us.)
We created this handout for our attendees. Since the conference, other new librarians have contacted us with requests for copies. We're honored to share it!
Also following the conference, Lisa and I were asked to present a greatly expanded version of this program at ALA's 2010 Annual Conference. We are currently working on the plans. Feel free to contact me for more details.
