- America's Newspapers: America's Newspapers (also called NewsBank) provides the full text of newspaper articles from across the United States. It also provides transcripts of television news programs. Most materials are available on the day they are published.
- Academic Search Premier: Academic Search Premier is a database that covers many subject areas and types of material. This tutorial shows you how to access the database and set up a basic search.
- Article Search: Sometimes when you need articles for a research assignment, you have a particular article in mind. Sometimes you don't. This tutorial will help you learn to handle both situations. Note that it does not cover basic skills for keyword searching. If you need advice on keyword searching, try the Academic Search Premier tutorial above.
- Biological Abstracts: Searching for articles on biology and related subjects? Biological Abstracts is a great place to start. This tutorial will teach you the basics. Video by Auraria science librarian Dr. Ignacio Ferrer-Vinent.
- Contact a Librarian: Whether you're studying in Aurora or Beijing, you can ask librarians by chat, e-mail, or phone. Here's how.
- CQ Researcher: CQ Researcher is a database that focuses on controversial issues. It's great for preparing a persuasive speech, researching a "pro/con" assignment, or just finding a current topic to research.
- Delicious (for Auraria Library reference staff): Delicious is a Web site that saves your bookmarks online. You can save and view bookmarks anywhere. Learn to save and view bookmarks on the reference department's account through this tutorial.
- ebooks: You can use electronic books, or "ebooks," whether you're on campus or ten thousand miles away. This tutorial shows you how to find and acccess ebooks.
- Finding Articles in Full Text: This tutorial teaches you how to access articles in full text. It discusses how to tell whether the Auraria Library owns the article, and how to get the article either way.
- Interlibrary Loan: Interlibrary Loan is a way to borrow articles, books, and other materials from libraries around the world. This tutorial shows you how to register for an account and make a request.
- LexisNexis Academic: The Basics: LexisNexis Academic is one of the best sources for finding articles from international newspapers, as well as articles on law. This tutorial will teach you basic skills for searching the database.
- LibraryH3lp: Learn how to set up Pidgin and the LibraryH3lp admin module. For Auraria Library employees.
- Pidgin is the software librarians use to operate chat reference at the Auraria Library. This tutorial will teach you some basic skills for using Pidgin.
- Prospector: The Prospector system shows you which libraries across Colorado hold the books and other materials you need. Students, faculty, and staff can order materials for free and have them delivered to Auraria Library.
- ScienceDirect: Find full-text articles in the life and physical sciences. Video by Auraria's science librarian Dr. Ignacio Ferrer-Vinent.
- Subject Databases: Need articles? Auraria Library subscribes to approximately 300 databases full of articles and other information. This tutorial shows you how to find and enter a database in your subject area.
- Textbooks: The Auraria Library does not purchase textbooks for classes. However, you may still be able to find your textbook through the library. This tutorial shows you several options for searching. Not sure of your textbook's title? Figure it out using "What's My Textbook Called Again?"
