Biological Abstracts

Biological Abstracts is one of the Auraria Library's best databases for researching biology and related topics. This tutorial will teach you the basics. Steps are listed below the video.

Basic searching in Biological Abstracts:

  1. On the Library's home page, put your mouse over Research Tools. Click on Databases.
  2. On the "by subject" menu, choose Biology. Click Go.
  3. Click the list for Biological Abstracts on the list.
  4. Try a simple search: enter keywords and publication dates, and click Search.
  5. To narrow down your list, try entering additional keywords.
  6. Click on the title of an article to see the abstract.
  7. Look for an "html full text" or "pdf full text" link to get your article. If one is not there, click the black "Find Full Text" button.
  8. Use icons at the top of the article to print or email a copy.
