Save the Date for Auraria Creates 2026: April 6 – 7!

Each April, the Auraria Library hosts Auraria Creates—our 4th annual celebration of the creativity and scholarship being generated throughout the Auraria Campus. For 2026, nearly a dozen faculty and students will present and discuss their work live: detailed 2026 event info can be found on this page.

This signature series of presentations and receptions is an outstanding opportunity for students and faculty from CU Denver, MSU Denver, and the Community College of Denver to present their work to appreciative audiences. Since the series was initiated (as Auraria Writes) in 2023, presenters have explored topics such as:

  • How students can overcome traditional barriers to extemporaneous drawing and creativity
  • Economic stagnation in countries once part of the Soviet Union, through photojournalism
  • How data-infused maps can advance important narratives and help us better understand the world

Anyone who is interested in participating in future Auraria Creates showcases may express their interest by email. Active recruitment for 2027 Auraria Creates participants will begin in Fall 2026.
