Overview
The Collection Development Student Assistant position will primarily help the Collection Development group with tasks related to the new game collection at Auraria Library. The collection will consist of over 200 board games, card games, and tabletop role-playing games (TTRPG). This position will mainly assist with the development of workflows, recommendation of games to users, and creation of outreach and marketing materials for the game collection.

Job Duties
- Develop a workflow for reviewing and checking in circulating and library-use-only games.
- Check games for pieces as the games are returned.
- Work with the Outreach Team on developing outreach opportunities for the game collection.
- Develop communication to market the game collection to students, faculty, and staff.
- Assist with the initial processing of games.
- Answer questions from library employees and users about games.
- Provide game recommendations to library employees and users based on interest.
- Develop a list of online tutorials for games.
- Enter metadata for games into the library catalog, Sierra.

- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in at least one credit hour in an American Library Association (ALA) accredited graduate program in Library Science or a graduate program in Education.
- Experience working in an academic library setting.
- Experience working with board, card, and/or tabletop role-playing games at a game store or game company.
- Experience using the library service platform (LSP) Sierra.
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing quality customer service.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Auraria campus resources and their locations.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be registered for classes for the Spring 2026 semester.
Schedule:
5 hours per week. Hours are flexible Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Compensation:
$22.00/hr.
