Auraria Library Digital Collections: 500,000 Pages!

The Auraria Library Digital Collections has just surpassed 500,000 pages of digitized content, 509,335 to be precise. This is a tremendous milestone for our digital collections and signifies a critical mass of content that is text- and web-searchable, and, most importantly, free and open to all. Our most voluminous collection is our University of Colorado Denver Theses and Dissertations Collection, which contains over 3500 theses, dissertations, and other terminal works. This online resource contains three separate divisions: the Modern Critical Edition, with modern spelling and links to background and introductory materials; the Critical Reference Edition, which presents original spelling and links to Quarto and Folio facsimiles, music and staging notes; and the Authorship Companion, for collaboration and attribution scholars.

Did you know that April is National Poetry Month? Arguably the most famous Denver poet is Abelardo “Lalo” Delgado (1931 – 2004). You can find Lalo’s works of poetry at the Auraria Library. He was a major figure in the Chicano movement, both locally and nationally, in the 1960s and 1970s, and is widely regarded as “The Grandfather of Chicano and Chicana Poetry.” He taught in the Chicano Studies Department at what was then called Metropolitan State College for 17 years, and was Denver’s very first…
