Auraria Campus

All current students, faculty and staff of MSU Denver, CCD, AHEC, CU Denver, and the CU system have access to library resources. You can borrow circulating material, use computers in the library, and access library resources online from off campus. 

Public

Colorado residents may register for library access by showing a Colorado picture ID. Public users may borrow circulating materials. Computer use is limited to 30 minutes per day.

Other Colleges and Universities

Students and employees from other Colorado colleges and universities may borrow circulating material and use library computers. Bring your school picture ID to register as an academic guest.

Prospective Students

If you are visiting Auraria as a prospective student, you can visit the Ask Us Desk to get a 1-day pass for library computers.

Visiting Scholars and Faculty Associates

Visiting scholars and faculty associates may use all library resources in person at the library and many online resources off-campus. Ask your host department to fill out the Visiting Scholars and Faculty Associates form to request access.

Emeritus Faculty

Emeritus Faculty are granted full Auraria Faculty privileges and are registered with the Emeritus affiliation after providing paperwork to the Ask Us desk from an Auraria Institution Dean or Director.

Retired Faculty

Retired Auraria faculty and staff from CCD, MSU Denver, and CU Denver receive no distinct Auraria Library privileges unless you are considered Emeritus faculty by your respective institution. If you continue to reside in the State of Colorado, you can receive public user privileges.

CPRA

Colorado Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) members have the same general checkout privileges as Auraria undergraduate students excluding off-campus access to databases. CPRA members can also check out CPRA DVDs and videotapes.

Alumni

As an Auraria alumni, you can register for off-campus access to Annual Reviews, IEEE Xplore, Project Muse, Sage Journals, Philosophy Documentation Center - Poiesis, and CQ Researcher. Contact the alumni office of your institution to establish alumni privileges.

In-Person

  • Research Tutoring
    Research tutoring is for quick questions, tips, and strategies on finding and evaluating information resources.  Research Tutoring is located in the Knowledge Market on the first floor and is available Monday–Thursday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

  • Research Consultations
    Research consultations are for in-depth and lengthy discussions about research questions. Please use Schedule a Research Consultation Form to request an appointment.  Due to the level of preparation needed, appointments should be made 48 hours in advance. If you need immediate help, please use Research Tutoring.
