Overview

The Creative Technology Assistant will work in the Auraria Library Innovation Garage, providing support to campus students, faculty, and staff. Applicants with experience in only one area are encouraged to apply, with the expectation that they will train in the other areas of responsibility during scheduled shifts. The Creative Technology Assistant collaborates with the Creative Technologies Services Unit, other student staff, and the Ask Us desk to deliver quality, courteous, and responsive customer service in support of public-facing spaces.

Job Duties

  • Engages Innovation Garage users, assisting with answering questions and providing a positive user experience.
  • Assist users with design and multimedia production software, including Adobe Creative Cloud software with a heavy emphasis in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Assist users with design and multimedia production equipment, including printers, vinyl plotter, and 3D printers.
  • Support an environment of creativity and exploration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in at least one credit hour at a higher education institution, online or in-person.
  • Must apply for a work-study award once offered and accepted position.
    • Work-Study Students: Undergraduate work-study students MUST be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours throughout a semester, including summer semesters.
    • Graduate work-study students: MUST be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours throughout a semester, including summer semesters (except in the case of students completing their thesis and/or dissertation credit during a single summer semester).
  • Students may still be eligible for hire if they are not awarded a work study award if the department’s budget permits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering customer service.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign; experience with maker technology such as vinyl plotting, sewing, or other fine arts, experience with 3D modeling software such as Blender, Maya, or Rhinocerous; experience with 3D printing and troubleshooting.

Conditions of Employment: 

  • Must be registered for Spring 2025 semester.

Posting start & end dates

Approximate Hours Per Week:

8-15 hours weekly, Monday-Thursday

Compensation Hourly Wage/Salary Range:

 $18.81
