Current best practices seek to broaden and redefine the research experience for our students by supporting them along the entire duration of their journey from identifying their initial need, to the creation of the final product of their work, whether it is a paper, presentation or other form of output. If we are to truly engage in the scholarly conversation, we need to be attuned to the changing landscape of the scholarly environment, especially where students are now faced with new forms of authorship as they curate, repurpose and share digital information.
To that end, the Auraria Library needs to be strategically positioned to support and provide leadership for the scholarly, academic and social activities that are part of this new and ever changing environment by developing an outward focus that centers on user needs and strengthens our existing relationships while identifying alternative sources of funding.
